Daddy
Kool is the oldest pure reggae store in Europe. Established in 1974 we started
as a black music centre selling all types of music and specialising in ska and
reggae, yet as always life was destined not to be that simple. The late great
Bob Marley began his meteoric rise, the Sex Pistols started to hang out at the
shop and suddenly Daddy Kool's became the centrte of London's most exciting
scene in the mid to late seventies. As as consequence Daddy Kool's is frequented
by such luminaries as Mick Hucknell from Simply Red, Suggs from Madness, John
Peels the legendary dj from the BBC and Derek Pringle the ex England cricketer,
to name but a few. After three decades standards are as high as ever and Daddy
Kool still leads the way as the U.K's premier reggae collector's outlet. Nowhere
else can you buy bluebeat, ska and rocksteady from the 60's, roots and dub from
the 70's, dancehall from the 80's and ragga from the 90's as well as the millennium
hottest sounds.
